Project Details
The University Libraries Recent Acquisitions Evening is an event that celebrates the recent additions to the Wilson Special Collections. While the event is free and open to the public, University Libraries sought to send custom invitations to a select number of supporters, inviting them to the event and a pre-event reception. I created the invitation in a shape that's reminiscent of a book’s dust jacket, nodding to the vast array of books in the Libraries’ collections. I used a thick paper with a soft touch varnish to give it a substantial and smooth feel, thus creating a more luxurious tactile experience for the recipient. I utilized images from the collections to serve as a preview of the items they can see in-person at the event. I also designed a custom logotype for the title of the event uses a modern typeface arranged in a classic circular design. This juxtaposition mirrors the various types of materials in the collections. After the invitation was designed, I designed a suite of supporting materials for the event, such as a postcard and digital signage, shown below.
This project was a Gold Award recipient in the 19th Annual Davey Awards.
